The picture you have just viewed above is a momentous one, dare I say, iconic. Why? It captures those time-standing-still seconds just before I had my first Chick-fil-A Chicken Salad Sandwich ever. That’s right folks. Never had one until tonight. Not only have I never had one, I haven’t even thought about having one. Chicken salad? Why not put on a tutu and dance the Nutcracker while you’re at it? It’d be like Fred dancing with Autumn, Sesame Street featuring Bert and Herbie, or the World Series being won by the Cubs: some things just don’t mix. Men and “salads” are two of those things.
Or are they?
Don’t get me wrong, I’m all for salads, especially those made by Mr. Giant Taco Salad Inventor. But when you’re at a Chick-fil-A, it just seems to me you should have a man’s sandwich, not something with a salad. It’s a good thing I’m working my way through the menu, because I would’ve never tried a #9 unless I was blogging about my VIP status every day. I paired my Chicken Salad Sandwich meal tonight with waffle fries and a Sprite (looking for a refreshing finish).
According to Chick-fil-A’s website, the Chicken Salad Sandwich is described as: Freshly made at each Restaurant, this tasty sandwich is made with chunks of our Chick-fil-A chicken breast, chopped eggs, celery, sweet pickle relish and mayonnaise served chilled with Green Leaf lettuce on toasted Wheatberry bread.
Total Cost: $6.34 (free for me obviously)

The good thing about my local Trinity Chick-fil-A is that the people there are great. I don’t know if it’s the owner, the managers, the parents, or a combination of all three, but the staff couldn’t be nicer. Tonight’s server was (Amanda, I think???), and as you can see, she was happy to serve and seemed to enjoy her job. I think by now though everyone is at least aware of the weird Every Day with Chick-fil-A blogger, so they kind of don’t mind giving a smile for the camera. Besides, it just feels good to smile, am I right?
As for my Chick-fil-A Chicken Sandwich, I’ll say this – it was good. Not great, but good. Would I purchase it as a standalone? Probably not. Especially because if I’m going to put more calories in my body than a 4-pc Chick-n-Strips, I want it to knock my socks off. This was good, and I was more than happy to eat it, but if I’m looking for value, I’m probably looking elsewhere.
Final Every Day Rating – Going 7 out of 10 on this one. Again, the service was speedy and friendly, but I’m looking for more bang for my hard earned buck.
