Well I am excited to say that I’ve finally made it to my first Chick-fil-A breakfast, and I couldn’t be more thrilled. This morning I was there at 6:30 a.m. and as you can tell from the pic, it’s a touch different than the lunchtime stampede. I breezed through the drive-thru on my way to my first round of golf in four or five months. I also met a new friend, apparently a morning server – Phyllis.
Now props to Phyllis. Though I politely asked, she did not want to be in my picture. But she manned up and took the photo op, and Phyllis, if you’re reading this, I’m thankful.
I never thought about chicken for breakfast until Chick-fil-A came into my life years ago when I moved to Florida, and now it’s as natural as my 2-year old King Charles Cavalier Spaniel hiding under blankets during neighborhood 4th of July fireworks.
This morning I’m on a Breakfast #1, the Chick-fil-A Chicken Biscuit meal with Hash Browns and a medium coffee. According to Chick-fil-A’s website the Chick-fil-A Chicken Biscuit is: A breakfast portion of our famous boneless breast of chicken, seasoned to perfection, hand-breaded, pressure-cooked in peanut oil and served on a freshly baked buttermilk biscuit.
Total Cost: $4.68
Nutritional Content of the Biscuit, Hash Browns, and a medium coffee:
11g Saturated Fat
0g Trans Fat
Now there are only 5 calories in the coffee, so most of your calories are coming from that delicious, buttersoaked biscuit. At least that’s what I’m thinking. I actually ate the hash browns first, which are amazingly good. I realize you can’t eat Chick-fil-A every day – well, unless you’re me – but the caloric intake is totally worth it in moderation. IMHO, anyhow. I absolutely love breakfast food, but typically don’t eat until 10 or 11 in the morning. Since I usually take the morning shift over at AddictedtoSaving.com, it’s going to take some getting used to.
I think I’ll manage.
Final Every Day Rating: 10 out of 10. Come on. It’s perfectly pressure-cooked chicken, a buttery, flaky biscuit, hash browns and morning joe. Of course it’s a 10.
Oh, and the golf score? Let’s just say the Chick-fil-A breakfast was the high point.
