Today was another cookie day at Chick-fil-A, primarily because we have a ton of food at home (especially fresh veggies from our co-op), so I deemed it wise to use that food. Plus Liza’s mom made a bunch of homemade sauce, so we had pasta and green beans for dinner.
However, that didn’t stop me from getting a 6-pk of cookies and pairing them with my other restaurant love affair – Dunkin Donuts. And, it was happy hour, so they were 1/2 price! 🙂
Sandy was my server, and was a nice as ever, and you’ll notice the photobombing by Ryan in the background. I’ve circled him just in case you glanced over it (I didn’t notice the pointing until just now!)
Asher was in the car, and I have to say, the days are getting better and better with the little man. He’s been a two-a-day-napper for the past couple of days, a result of getting up at 6 a.m. each morning. But it’s been working out, and his temperament appears as though he’s becoming more and more comfortable. And today, we had a special day – it was Asher’s first trip to the pool! Let me tell you, this kid is fearless! Granted, he probably drank in more chlorine than would be desired, and he sneezed about 50 times (I’m not kidding) while in the kiddie pool in our neighborhood, but overall, Liza and I were very happy to see how much he enjoyed himself.
His swim trunks were falling off him the whole time too, but it just added to the special time we had. Really, these are some magical moments, and I’m soaking them in. Ten or twelve years from now we will have had more than our fair share of fights, and he will have lost those edible chubby cheeks and baby Buddha belly, and I probably won’t oogle and ahhhh at every little thing he does. But for now, I am. The pic below where he’s laying with daddy in the water has been indelibly etched in my memory. It’s the first time since he’s been home that he didn’t squirm after about 5 seconds of being in one position. He just lay. Calmly. Blissfully. Like he felt at home.
And it was freaking awesome.
Anywho, here are a few of the memory-makers. Until tomorrow……
